Ask Liam - Ronan Galway

Today's question from Ronan Galway in Ireland.

If you were stranded on a desert island and could only pick one album, one film and one piece of Pretty Green clothing, what would they be?

Wesley Fleet Monday 14 June, 2010 1:28 p.m.

Philipp Schlund Monday 14 June, 2010 4:30 p.m.

Dominic Chevrier Monday 14 June, 2010 4:38 p.m.

If i had to make a choice it will be: The Smiths: Queen is dead , Movie:L'auberge Espagnole, and have to bring my 2 Pretty Green Parkas and make a shelt with it !

simon sears-piccavey Monday 14 June, 2010 5:27 p.m.

hi, yes i am indeed for real? i jest not, it is imperative in this day n age to inform people of possible bad language, as sudden inserted foul language could cause major offence, i am a huge Oasis fan but refuse to listen to the f##ing in the bushes on standing on the shoulder of giants!

Jose D'Angelo Monday 14 June, 2010 5:56 p.m.

stone roses are fine but there are better albums don't you think? any oasis album would do the trick.. definitely maybe!

david griac Monday 14 June, 2010 6:15 p.m.

nice one with roses! parka :))) the boy is funny, love it

darren gibbs Monday 14 June, 2010 7:17 p.m.

Simon Sears Piccavey ha ha ha! Stick to barbie dolls, train sets or stamp collection you nob jockey! Hope your pocket full of Pretty Green is spent down at Top Man or Burtons! Imagine he has only recently jumped on the Oasis bandwagon since the split and heard of PG from a cool and happening friend!

Mark Miller Monday 14 June, 2010 8:49 p.m.

Simon Sears are you mental! Oasis are a band from the street for working class people, they have never pretended not to be - you probably a Coldplay fan tryin to be cool. I take it you've never been to a concert...never a fan - other songs are about hard-on's, drugs, drinking, the type of things we do...... LIVE FOREVER!, and piss aff and spend yer pocket money at Primark ya knobber!

simon sears-piccavey Monday 14 June, 2010 8:53 p.m.

i LOVE coldplay, i always listen to them while marking my pupils work, and drinking coffee, i have been to a travis concert and i got accidentally bumped into, it was crazy i can tell you, my father has always let me have what i want as we are well off you see, so no i dont really know about working class, i am similar to the common people song by Pulp, except i am not a bird i am a thoroughly decent bloke, now where are my brogues!

darren gibbs Monday 14 June, 2010 8:59 p.m.

Yet another cock who doesn't know Liam from Noel or his arse from his elbow - Simons choice of his top desert island favourite 3: Life through a lens! Spiceworld (The Movie) and a Pretty Green hat to cover your shameful and stoopid face and head! Sale at Primark for folks like you!

simon sears-piccavey Monday 14 June, 2010 9:17 p.m.

well my 3 desert island discs would be Katie Melua - Piece by piece, film - Ghostbusters, clothing item - waistcoat! be lost with out the latter as where the devil would i put my watch, i like this forum cant beleive i chanced upon this, i feel i am somehow connecting with the lowlifes of the country, i feel we have a unique bond between us just like me and the rugger boys back in the college days!

darren gibbs Monday 14 June, 2010 10:13 p.m.

You really are a Coldplay fan! Text book - rich parents, private education, waistcoats, brogues and flared trousers! Katie Melua though woeful woeful! Get yourself some decent tunes and come back on when you've got something worthwhile to have an opinion on! Until then nob off you filthy scruffy student!

simon sears-piccavey Monday 14 June, 2010 10:26 p.m.

dont get me wrong i like some oasis tracks especially love forever, but as i 1st mentioned f~~ing in the bushes is absurd! just plain rude. I dont do flared trousers, just cords & chinos usually, so i am different, its waht makes the world go round! I am no longer a student, i teach boys at the school where i was eductaed, it gives me a warm feeling in my heart to know i am forming the young boys lives, i was never a filthy student anyway my digs were cleaned daily, as my father paid for it to be done so. i cant believe the small mindedness of the folk on here, it really is quite upsetting!

Mark Miller Monday 14 June, 2010 10:44 p.m.

now Simon, the warm feeing your getting from the boy's will get you the jail! we know what goes on at the all boy's school's, ETON KNOB JOCKIES!! you'll be getting a Semi that Robbir might be going back to Take That too - you keep teachin for yer thrills! and let us mere mortal's enjoy REAL life! think the song you mean is Live Forever - Slide away mean anything to you......wi yer schoolies!!

simon sears-piccavey Monday 14 June, 2010 10:49 p.m.

typical narrow minded comment from small minded folk!

Mark Miller Monday 14 June, 2010 10:54 p.m.

Kurt Palmer Tuesday 15 June, 2010 8:46 a.m.

Tracey Merrill Tuesday 15 June, 2010 9:27 a.m.

Quadraphenia (DEFINATELY!!!) Stone Roses Album (DEFINATELY!!!) But the Parker...NAH, for me would have to be the Pea Coat. Love em, and don't care if they are meant for men, over here in NZ we can get said coat taylored for women from a shop called Shantton, have'nt managed to get one yet but will definately in the near future :) Luv ya always Liam xoxo Trace :)

Nathaniel Smithson-Cartwright Tuesday 15 June, 2010 9:36 a.m.

Please behave, young men, the usage of profanities is surely for working-class oiks doped up on some cheap pill festering in one's stomach. I couldn't listen to Married to Children, nor Hello, for the profanities nearly gave me a heart attack. Mummy would not approve. She once heard me say the word "cock" and gave me a right spanking. It still smarts even today. Don't get me wrong, I'm an erudite person who doesn't mind the latest batch of designer clobber from Liam Gallacher, but I would appreciate it if the ruffian stopped the swearing. I was listening to one of his ghastly interviews when he suddenly - for no reason - started blurting out profanities. I nearly hyperventilated, because Mummy was having a mid-day nap in the room next door. It needed a dip in our jacuzzi to cool one down. Phew! So, take it from me, the usage of profanities isn't the way to make oneself look cool. On the contrary, while you think you're being erudite and fey, you're just giving the impression of being no better than, say, Jem Archer. Oh, I must dash now; my darling daughter, Isadora, is having horse-riding lessons. It's not cheap, but only the best for my little princess. Tally-ho!

eszter90 Tuesday 15 June, 2010 9:45 a.m.

anyone understands what film did he say? I just can't understand.

Nathaniel Smithson-Cartwright Tuesday 15 June, 2010 9:53 a.m.

@ESZTER90 The film Liam Gallacher mentioned was Quadrophenia, a terrible film. Further evidence of Liam pandering up to the Mods. First he started brandishing Union Jacks, then he recruited the OAP Paul Weller, now this unbashed move to pretend he was a mod. This film was a very poor one, and I made an even better film in the 80s when at Eton. With some senior Tory ministers, we made a film about the joys of Greek architecture. Much better than Quadrophenia. I remember at the time, Professor Rupert Critchwell lambasted this film, for he said it was a joke on film-making. I decided to watch it on DVD a few years ago to check on my beloved professor's theory, but Mummy found out what I was watching and dragged me out of the cinema hall by my ear. It still smarts today.
