Glasgow Store Official Opening Rearranged

Pretty Green are excited to announce that Liam Gallagher will be heading to Glasgow on Friday 7th January to officially open the temporary store on Ingram Street.

Due to adverse weather conditions in Scotland last month, Liam’s original plans to open the store had to be rescheduled until now.

The store has already proved to be a massive success since opening on December 8th and is set to follow that of the Carnaby Street and Manchester store.

Liam Gallagher will be opening the Glasgow store, Unit 3, GPO Building, Ingram Street, G1 1DG at 1.30pm.

Mick Lynham Tuesday 04 January, 2011 8:58 p.m.

Hey, I got an invite via email. But was thinking of flying over to Glasgow for the opening. Does anyone know if we will be giving the chance to meet Liam?

john eccles Tuesday 04 January, 2011 9:27 p.m.

I got an invite to the Manchester one and got to meet LG, but got a different email this time!

Lorraine Trevena Tuesday 04 January, 2011 9:28 p.m.

What did your email say this time John?

Lorraine Trevena Tuesday 04 January, 2011 9:47 p.m.

Is the Sonic The Hegdehog thing real?? I'm a bit suspicious because surely Pretty Green would have mentioned it in their emails to everyone lol

Joseph Curry Tuesday 04 January, 2011 10:54 p.m.

Lorraine, what Sonic Hedgehog thing?

richard gorman Wednesday 05 January, 2011 10:54 a.m.

Jake Hogg Wednesday 05 January, 2011 3:07 p.m.

does the invite tell you that you are invited or is just an email saying pretty much what it says above?

Bruce Coull Wednesday 05 January, 2011 4:57 p.m.

what does the invite email have t say t be on the guest list ?

jamie hazzard Wednesday 05 January, 2011 8:21 p.m.

Lyall Mooney Wednesday 05 January, 2011 8:23 p.m.

simon sears-piccavey Thursday 06 January, 2011 2:54 p.m.

Lorraine Trevena Thursday 06 January, 2011 4:01 p.m.

I think the sonic thing is bull.. surely Pretty Green would have mentioned it in their official email to everyone and not some Facebook post that has been removed now?? xx

Paul Jones Thursday 06 January, 2011 6:29 p.m.

Arrived at 11am, five folk waiting outside, the store was of course closed at this point. The G4S security staff outside called for folk who are on the guestlist to form a line to the right and those not on the list to the left. Having recieved the invitation by email I went to the right, but was abruptly advised by security that the email invitation I printed off and brought along, was not guestlist material?? What the f**cks going on like?? I just travelled 65 miles doen from Dundee at 8am to meet my idol, and I get refused, when I clearly had proof I was invited!! Absolutely raging, formal complaint in writing next!

Andrew Blackett Friday 07 January, 2011 3:18 p.m.

Cheers for not taking an extra hour out your time to see the handful of fans outside, a 50 minute appearance is a disgrace, we are the ones that's made pretty green a success by f**king buyin the gear, poor show man

ross cumming Friday 07 January, 2011 5:23 p.m.

Waited in queue for 2 hours and at no point were we told that it was only the folk on the guest list who would get to meet Liam. When they eventually let us in we were told to go downstairs, we were then shouted at by a member of staff and told to get back upstairs. By this time the folk at the end of the queue were now at the front. Another member of staff came out and told us to go downstairs again. There were far too many people crammed in downstairs and it became quite clear we were put there so that Liam could get out of the shop easily. He appeared and waved from upstairs for a few seconds then ran out the shop. It just seemed like a ploy to get a lot of folk into the shop to buy the overpriced gear. Totally disgusted that he could leave his fans waiting in -5 temperatures and not even give them the time of day. Does he forget who put him where he is? I was planning on buying some gear but was too disgusted with how the fans had been treated.

Guest Friday 07 January, 2011 6:17 p.m.

Big Big let down, have now made a formal compliant by email to head office, I suggest, altough not the same situation as myself, you do the same!

Ryan Norrie Friday 07 January, 2011 6:43 p.m.

Very dissapointed with Liam Today, showed up at the shop just after 11 o'clock, had my pen and pad ready and a camera, really just wanted to meet Liam! I've already paid £350 for items from PG which im going to admit now, really arent worth the expensive price, £125 for a jacket!!! but i buy them, the fact that Liam only waited 1 hour with VIP guests then when we all came in, the ones who waited for hours in the freeze tempertures got in he had the ego to wave and leave, i was very annoyed, my idol and will continue to be my idol showed his poor side! If it wasnt for all of us buying his gear buying his music, buying tickets for his tours, where would he be now? Just think about that!

chris law Friday 07 January, 2011 6:56 p.m.

It was pretty comical how the f**ker had us all ushered downstairs and then he makes a run for it.....Ive got a photo of an empty balcony haha....by the time I got my camera out he had f**ked off! Wont be buying any more of his clobber for that treatment....still goin barras tho in March!!

Simon Barclay Friday 07 January, 2011 6:58 p.m.

Completely agree with Ross Cumming. Could Liam not have spared another hour to sit and give us loyal fans an autograph or photo after we had queued outside in the freezing cold for, in some cases 3 hours? And the e-mails that PG send to "invite" you to the store launch have to be much clearer whether you are actually on the guest list or not and whether you will actually have a chance to meet Liam. Poor show all round.

gerry black Friday 07 January, 2011 8:03 p.m.

dogged school, which means letter and a grounding and what for? nothing to get a glimpse of one of the ugliest hats in rock and roll not on man not on! i did go in and buy a polo but that was to make myself feel better haha

jamie hazzard Friday 07 January, 2011 8:14 p.m.

letter and grounding brilliant that is rock n roll! i didnt turn up today i said it the last time i've spent a grand + on PG and if i wasnt good enough for the man! then i wasnt hanging about like some desperado! the clobber is proper and i though the PG where on the right track with there community feeling and vibe but they have let a lot of people down!

Guest Friday 07 January, 2011 8:51 p.m.

ppppfffftttt...think again Jamie, the customer relations are a complete bunch of arrogant southern turds, that would be better suited to Harrods rather than PG! I've dealt with them on a few occasions now regarding delayed orders, totally ignorant beyond belief. Contact by phone, as they never respond to emails! That being said, I don't in anyway shape or form blame Liam for that at all, of course, his management team are payed mega sleeves to take care of that side of business, so he's not in charge of who they employ! However, I do believe to get the business right, you need to listen to the customers, and clearly today they aint happy! Get the big-wigs who ersed-up today sorted Liam, we all still love ye mate!

Liam O'Hare Friday 07 January, 2011 8:52 p.m.

Pretty green? Pretty gutted. Much the same as the comments above, if I'd known I wasn't going to get in to meet the man I wouldn't have bothered getting out my bed. Total waste of time and money. Proper disappointed, especially seeing the nick of some of the folk that did get in for an autograph! I assume a fair amount of them don't have mirrors?

Guest Friday 07 January, 2011 8:58 p.m.

LOL! Slur of the day award goes to...Liam O'Hare! "nick of some of the folk" indeed mate, a few rough-yins hanging on, more like the man-at-matalan! lol!

Brian Robertson Friday 07 January, 2011 9:02 p.m.

A lot of pissed off people by the sound of it but to say about him letting down the real fans and the folk that put him where he was, where were all you "real fans" on December 8th in -10 and all the snow cause you weren't there. It was f**king mobbed today compared to then.

Deirdre McIntyre Friday 07 January, 2011 9:11 p.m.

im from ireland so i couldnt have gone over anyway because i figured that there is no way that there wasnt a catch to this thing, i havent bought anything off pretty green yet so i figured the invite with no rsvp that i got via email wouldnt be that good because why out of thousands would they pick me to be let in to see him, did the people that bought a lot of stuff of this website get the proper invites that are VIP the whole thing would have seemed too good to be true, but if he ever opens a store in dublin i will be up in a flash cos i would just like to say i even went to the opening of his store if nothing else, liam cant meet everyone theres just too many people, hes a busy man at the moment with the band and everything he probably had to leave to go somewhere!

Lorraine Trevena Friday 07 January, 2011 10:10 p.m.

Well I was one of the die hards that travelled up to Glasgow last month, facing snow, slush and delayed trains. I even stuck around for the opening despite knowing that Liam had to cancel. Today was a complete joke. I had my confirmation email from Pretty Green saying I was on the guest list and I even had the reference number for me and my plus 1. However, when I got there (around 11) the idiotic doorman told me my name wasn't on the list, so I wasn't getting in the VIP queue... despite showing him the email proving otherwise!!! So I waited in the freezing temperatures just to get a glimpse of Liam for less than a few mins. The doorman even had the cheek to let in a couple of people from the "normal queue" who didn't even have VIP passes like myself. It was heartbreaking watching all the wee kids (who didn't even look like they were born when Oasis came on the scene) come out the store with their autographs and pics with Liam... that should have been me!!!!! lol I'm writing a formal letter of complaint to the Glasgow store about that incompetent sh**-faced doorman. I know it won't do any good, but at least I'll feel better for it.

Robert Haughey Friday 07 January, 2011 10:12 p.m.

pure f**king let down LG a could not even bring myself to buy any PG clobber after that show. you let alot of your fans down. aye and you waved good buy to haha! mind we are the ones that are going to help PG and beady eye go where you want it.....

Graham Kelly Friday 07 January, 2011 11:19 p.m.

I turned up at 3 because the facebook post said he'd be there till half four and that was the earliest I could leve school. But when I got rare the guy with the Paul weller haircut thy works tree told me he'd already been and gone. I'm so disappointed now. I wouldn't have bothers if it hasn't been for the facebook post that turned out to be wrong. Really annoyed now, and obviously gutted I never got to see the great man.

Graham Kelly Friday 07 January, 2011 11:21 p.m.

I was there on december 8th, too. I feel I deserve to see him after two failed attempts.

Lorraine Trevena Friday 07 January, 2011 11:22 p.m.

Graham.. I wouldn't worry about it too much, if you weren't on the VIP guest list, then you had no chance of seeing him anyway. He arrived at 12.50 and left just after 2.

simon sears-piccavey Saturday 08 January, 2011 12:32 a.m.

graham firstly you need to learn how to spell you great big DICK! then maybe you will get somewhere a bit closer! to all the folk who DIDNT get in, did you have your "sonic the hedgehog" stuff on????? NO! well there ya go thats why you didnt get in!

Gary Southworth Saturday 08 January, 2011 1:41 a.m.

Disafeckingpointed!! as everyone else was saying, stand there in -feck knows conditions for 2 hours! i even dragged my girlfriend along to this(which i know wont hear the end of)as i'd said to her that we wont be let down as Liam treats his fans right, to be then penned in downstairs so he can make his getaway from the non guest-list fans, and thinks that a wave and a "alright" is acceptable for the fans who spend money on him, and wait in the freezing cold to meet him as a way of getting at least something back in return. Feckin shocking! I can only hope this was his management's doing and not Liam himself. Also the staff in that store are miserable sod's as well, many would give their right limb for a job in there, enjoy your luckiness! Really wish i'd something good to write about today's experience.....come to think of it, my pretty green order did arrive, 2 weeks late...every cloud eh? Still, Beady eye in the barras i still cant wait for, cos we know he's gonna be in top form!

JOHN DAVIDSON Saturday 08 January, 2011 9:43 a.m.

I was one of the lucky ones who got in and what I could clearly tell was his security were the ones runing the show and were hurrying up everyone inside, obviously he somewhere else to go. Saying that he should have stayed much longer and took time to meet all the other bods who froze their bollocks off for hours. Hopefully his management will take notice of all these comments next time he opens a shop. By the way Liam thanks for dumping the cds I gave you on the plane. You must have forgotten how hard it is trying to get a break in music biz....expected nothing else to be honest !

jamie hazzard Saturday 08 January, 2011 9:57 a.m.

lorraine i cant believe you had the vip invite and still never got to meet Liam! you should have booted that doorman in the rolling stones at least you would have been vindicated! honestly people after the last debacle in december i havent even bought a single thing from PG and that includes a trip to the store! if you proceed to checkout on the website but dont complete the purchase they email the next day all friendly "anything wrong how can we help?" they are quick to email a happy xmas and new year with some gay logo, and they are quick to give the £10 voucher so everybody goes on a cash splash! but i for one am not falling for it anymore! limited addition T-shirts? limited amount a time for the very people who have enabled you to open a shop in our fair city ya bam! see ya at the beady eye gig at the barras on the friday night Liam and yer gettin a pint lobbed right oor ye ya bam!!! LOL pmsl

stuart irvine Saturday 08 January, 2011 11:25 a.m.

waited outside store for 2 hours mega cold but well worth it met the man himself proper gent well worth it,total rocknroll star

Linda Mcgarrigle Saturday 08 January, 2011 12:23 p.m.

i was there and it was well worth the waiting in the cold for, i do agree tho it was a little disorganised we actualy almost got refused too Pheeew!! thankfully we pointed at the security guard who told us we were in the correct queue and we did get in :-D cool guy got ma picture and an autograph as did my friend well chuffed :-D

Guest Saturday 08 January, 2011 12:29 p.m.

Lorraine, see my post yesterday from 3.14pm, exactly the same situ as yourself. Regarding to the doorman you mention, was this a member of the Security staff 'G4S', or the actually Pretty Green security doorman, black suit and paisley on?? Anyways, write a letter of formal complaint to head office, I phoned the '0845' number(London)and asked for Customer Relations, could'nt put me through so I was advised to send a written letter, and was assured all letters of complaint are treated top priority...as you would expect of course! People power on this one, put your feelings in writing, we demand answers!

Linda Mcgarrigle Saturday 08 January, 2011 12:51 p.m.

Guest and Lorraine i think its bloody awful that you were on the guestlist and had your emails with codes and still diddnt get in thats what almost happened to me n my friend the guy im sure he was one of liams mob diddnt seem to understand which emails where guestlist material as i said b4 if it wasnt for the security guy passing at the time we were at the ribbon we were being sent to the other queue Phew! for him being there i hope you both get a good response from your complaints ;-)

Lorraine Trevena Saturday 08 January, 2011 1:09 p.m.

The guy that refused me was the idiot that looked like Rodney from Only Fools And Horses in Liam Gallagher clothes. The security people were useless and didn't know what I was talking about in reference to the VIP invites. I've already written and posted a handwritten letter of complaint to the Glasgow store (using the address given above) but you're right, I should write to head office as well.. what's their address?? The more I think about it.. the more it upsets me.. I've been a die hard liam/oasis fan for 16 years and this was my ONE chance to finally meet Liam and that jerk took that chance away from me. Rage!!!! Loli guess we have to take comfort in the fact that at least we weren't the only ones refused, I would have been even more annoyed if I was the only one it happened to. Address for head office???

Lorraine Trevena Saturday 08 January, 2011 3:11 p.m.

Is this the address? Pretty Green PO Box 8157 Reading RG6 9NH

sheree heggarty Saturday 08 January, 2011 4:51 p.m.

iv got to disagree with alot of the coments . myself and my husband had guest invites and had no problem getting in an meeting liam and having photos. liam was a total gent however it was clear that his management were pushing him for time.

Guest Saturday 08 January, 2011 6:02 p.m.

Spot on Lorraine, let us know how it goes, good luck! As I shall likewise! Peace

Alan Turner Saturday 08 January, 2011 7:57 p.m.

Liam was a gent, got in with my guest invite, got photo's and signed material. agree his management were pushing him for time

phil short Saturday 08 January, 2011 9:46 p.m.

Liam was awesome....no problems for me, just mind he woulda had a flight booked back to london. PG superb!!!!!!

Lorraine Trevena Saturday 08 January, 2011 10:48 p.m.

Thanks "guest".. sorry I don't know your name! Shall write and post it on Monday. I know it's not going to do any good.. it certainly won't rectify the situation, but it'll definitely make me feel better.. it's a sh** thing to do to anyone, let alone someone who's a lifelong fan.. if only they knew how much meeting him would have meant to me :( And for what it's worth, I have no beef with Liam leaving when he did, I was fully prepared for it as I've heard he did the exact same thing at the London and Manchester openings, left after meeting the VIP guests, he's a very busy man and I'm sure he may have had more promo to do.... Although in saying that, Liam could never do wrong in my eyes! I seem to have rose tinted glasses on when it comes to him! lol xx

Danielle Latcham Saturday 08 January, 2011 11:02 p.m.

All u so called lg fans slaggin him oFf, disgrace. A met him, wif ma vip invite, got a autograph nd photo, tld him bowt ma journey up2 glasgow, he ws dead chuffed that i made the trip up. Ws clearly bad management by his team nd security not him.bt all u so called fans still slag him off, shame on you. Beady eye rule, cnt w8 4 the album!

jamie hazzard Sunday 09 January, 2011 9:37 a.m.

for sale LOL it must have meant so much to you meeting your HERO and instantly recognising a business oppurtunity! shame on you! No wonder Liam and other stars dont do more of these types of things when vultures treat it as a way of cashing in whilst the genuine fans stand in the freezing cold just hoping to cath a glimpse of the man! stick yer Tshirt n taxi where the sun dont shiiiiiiiinnnneeeee!

Maria Gillan Sunday 09 January, 2011 1:33 p.m.

I waited since 10.45 in the que without a pass, it was sooo cold, i was the 1st person in the que for the people without an invite, and was so lucky that the liams manager got me and my wee girl in for a photo and autograph, im over the moon one for the family album, but I felt sorry for the other guys that waited as long as me, and were told from the store manager that they wld be let in also then wasnt.

JOHN DAVIDSON Sunday 09 January, 2011 2:09 p.m.

The only people to blame are Liam's management and the people in the queue who didn't have the VIP passes should have been told they were wasting their time especially when it was so bloody cold.

DEREK ADAMS Sunday 09 January, 2011 3:27 p.m.

me and my pal came down from aberdeen, risked a sacking from my owrk trying to get the day off. stood there like a sausage till we got in. the store its self is a joke. hardly any sizes. really disapointed, but over now. bring on the tour in march

Craig Williamson Monday 10 January, 2011 9:05 a.m.

"Queued for hours" f**kin twats.... Some of you need to look in mirror, on here moaning about not getting to meet LG, dont get me wrong I wouldnt mind meeting him but its not gonna ruin my life I dont. what are you more interested in buying quality clobber or acting like some stalker thats travelled half the country to get a Metro signed!!! On another note, I waas in the store yesterday, I chose to go when it wouldnt be swimming with tits and it was top....good staff, great clothes and a considerably lighter pocket!!

Guest Monday 10 January, 2011 9:38 a.m.

It would appear as if a having a kid along side you grants you allowance to skip the Q, and meet LG! Must try that stint next time!

Maria Gillan Monday 10 January, 2011 11:30 p.m.

"guest" how do you come to that conclusion? that you get to skip the queue with a kid? i didnt skip any one i was one of the first to arrive and was at the very front of the queue actually,, i was just extreamely lucky, do i sense a wee bit of jelousy? jelousy is a terrible thing. u might try that "stint" next time? i hope there isnt a next time for you twat.

terence young Tuesday 11 January, 2011 10:14 a.m.

liam ohare,u musta been in some nick not to get in. guest, ubetter deal with it,as u do aswell lorraine. myself,i got in and had a good chat with liam, proper geezer, and got interviewed by stv,im the one who says i hope the glasgow bams dont embrace pretty green, but liam, guest, lorraine, grow up yer acting like bams.also thought the doorman was fine,

Guest Tuesday 11 January, 2011 11:23 a.m.

Terence, lol! Is that your EGO inflated enough?? I thought YOU sounded more like the Glasgow "BAM" than attempting to accuse anyone else from your city! The doorman was fine with you, as others have stated on here, the old "I had a kid" which you did likewise, so hence why you strolled through and the doorman was sound! And the "clobber" you referred to on STV News, do you mean your Lacoste tracksuit?? because you appear the type who has been into the scene for no more than a few weeks! Don't give up your day job pal..it will not be worth it!

terence young Tuesday 11 January, 2011 1:40 p.m.

guest,my friend, dont have a pop at mefor being on guestlist, have a pop at organizers.as for mod culture, give me a bell,al show you how to dress yerself instead of yer mum doing it.you stick to yer gstar pal. as for the wean, well hewas on guestlist to.as fer my accent, well guest,u gotta keep it real,u stick to looking in windows sunshine, ill stick to milling around with my buddy liam

Marian Kello Tuesday 11 January, 2011 3:26 p.m.

We had a great day, well worth the trip from Orkney. After getting pics with LG spunked my wages on a new shirt and paisley, chuffed !! Top marks to the in-store DJ the playlist was banging. PMSL at the Rodney from Only Fools and Horses lookalike comparison. FWIW I thought he had more of a young Jimmy Hill look about him. TBF don't know why I'm joking he was a diaMOnD with us. See you all in the Barras in March, mines an 80. x

hey Maria glad you n yer daughter managed to get in very nice of the doorman i say ;-) i'll bet you managed to get a cracker of a pic to stick in a wee frame one well worth showing off i imagine :-D As fer yoo Guest you should be ashamed of yourself slagging off the entire population of a city then havin a pop at a baby all because you diddnt get your own way what you need to learn from this experience my friend is rather than doing the big talk on here at people who have done no harm to you is that maybe you should have spoke up a little louder when refused entry if you were on the list and refused its yer own bloody fault and not the other people on the guest list, there was no way i was taking no for an answer and guess what i got the lovely picture to prove it lmfao

To the bogtrotters on the site ripping into the shop staff - not on. I waited in a que like every other c*nt and only managed a few glimpses, fair enough - what do you expect him to do? Come out and spark up and start talking about the Man City game to you all and take in demos of yer snidey band? The guys got a tour coming up, writing new music for it etc. so I thought 2 hours was alright. To the guys who got in and managed a picture and autograph, hats off it must have been a brilliant feeling but the people up the page foaming at the mouth want to get a grip. I've been up at the shop a few times and the staff are absolutely first class, really helpful sound guys and the stick is out of order.

TERRY YOUNG Friday 21 January, 2011 11:59 a.m.

Terence Young Snr. guest U got a prob son. My boy Terry bringing the wean was not to influence anybody. We all had bonafied paperwork and Coded Registration, including my friend Linda and I. Check out Linda's posting because we had a hiccup with the dork on the door just as wee were about to go in. Wee had to summon the independant security guard who had already set us up in the proper queue. If U got blocked then that was the time to speak up not on a letters page. By the way keep your chin up you're dribblin.
