Our Black Label collection for SS16 is inherently rock and roll, combining staple fabrics such as leather and suede with signature paisleys reworked in a rich, autumnal palette.
As ever, our Black Label collection is steeped in rock history, this season we take our inspiration from the late 1960’s when music and fashion were changing dramatically. The colourful recycled Victorian military tunics made popular by The Beatles during their Sergeant Pepper period, gave way to a darker, cleaner, more monochromatic look.
Although detailing for coats, jackets, shirts and accessories was still borrowed from a bygone military look, the cuts became crisper, more styled. As music became more progressive with the emergence of bands like Led Zeppelin and T Rex, fashion began to reflect the new attitudes.
Our Black Label collection for SS16 takes its inspiration from this innovative and exciting time and reimagines the period for the 21st Century. Our single breasted jacket features a suede military inspired cuff and collar detailing, our striking floral print in red and blue is based on similar styles found in the late 1960’s King Road stores such as “Granny takes a trip” and has been reinterpreted and hand-painted in house.
