Junior Garment Technologist

Key Accountabilities:

The junior Garment Technologist is responsible for ensuring that the quality and technical aspects of the garments adhere with the Pretty Green standards. Within this the key responsibilities are as follows:

  • Responsible for taking the product from conception through all development stages to product delivery to stores, ensuring consistency throughout range
  • Solely responsible for their own categories within the range
  • Working closely with the Design Director, Buying team and Design team to fit and comment on all samples
  • Sample management throughout the sampling process
  • Updating Critical path and working stringently to deadlines
  • Working closely with the Buying team to ensure that all product delivery dates are achieved
  • Aware of internal and external measures such as returns rates, sample hit rates and competitor benchmarking.
  • Ownership of all aspects of the garments from construction, fit, care labels, disclaimers etc.
  • Development of blocks and fit where and when necessary
  • Understanding of blocks, grading, fabrics, pattern cutting, prints and finishing / wash techniques
  • Monitor and maintain consistency through Grade rules
  • Ownership of AQL / shipment approvals
  • Clear understanding of test reports, can advise suppliers where issues arise on how to proceed
  • To work with suppliers on reducing issues related to QC returns
  • Close relationship with the stores to advise on QC issues/ returns
  • Highlight any poor supplier performance to relevant departments
  • Local and world-wide travel to work with suppliers
  • Achieve sample hit rate. Work closely with Buying team to ensure appropriate supplier selection for each product.
  • Drive cost savings to business through innovation of quality initiatives throughout the year
  • Scoring of supply base to identify problematic suppliers in order to improve efficiency.
  • Attendance of all relevant company / departmental meetings as well as departmental trade and strategy meetings

Competencies & Skills:
  • Minimum 4-5 years’ experience

Photographic Studio Assistant

Key Accountabilities:

The Photography Studio Assistant is responsible for supporting the Photographer in shooting all product images for the website, aside from lifestyle shoots, and other required imagery. Keen to learn and develop their skills to build a solid career foundation, this is an entry level position which would suit a recent graduate or young photographer looking to develop and grow Within this the key responsibilities are as follows:

  • Maintain database of items to shoot
  • Track whereabouts of samples
  • Prepare samples for photoshoot
  • Assist photographer during product and model shoots with fit & appearance of garment
  • Work closely with Ecomm and Marketing teams to understand their seasonal direction / requirements
  • Communicate with modelling agents when arranging model sessions
  • Assist in assuring images meet the brands standards in final stages of production
  • Make small amendments to images in Adobe Photoshop as directed by the photographer
  • Prepare outfits following the brand’s style-guide in preparation for model shoots

Competencies & Skills

Store Manager

Key Accountabilities:

The Store Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of their designated store(s) in line with business objectives and guidelines whilst ensuring a happy, motivated and effective team. Within this the key responsibilities are as follows:

  • Plan, organize and set objectives to surpass all financial and KPI targets, with structured monitoring and performance management.
  • Review KPIs such as traffic, conversion, UPT, ATV and category sales on a weekly basis to formulate action plans to maximize both over and under performance.
  • Ensure that visual standards and environment of the store are at the highest standard at all times and inline with company guidelines
  • Work with the events team to plan in local events and marketing in order to drive sales.
  • Act as a communication gateway between Area Manager and the store team.
  • Implement and monitor regular store audits with clear action plans to relay to your Area Manager and team.
  • Lead by example when dealing with customers and sales; perform to an excellent standard all roles detailed in the Sales Assistant’s job description
  • Ensure expected high levels quality of customer service, productivity and health and safety are met. Any issues in these areas are to be resolved in a responsible and efficient manner to create a safe store environment for staff and customers.
  • Tour the sales floor regularly, talking to colleagues and customers and identifying or resolving urgent issues
  • Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions, policies regarding payment and exchanges, and security practices.
  • Manage and motivate their shop team to increase sales and ensure efficiency. Ensure each sales assistant is informed on performance, new initiatives and product knowledge and undertake staff training where appropriate.
  • Dealing with staffing issues such as interviewing potential staff, conducting appraisals and performance reviews, as well as providing or organising training and development. Ensuring appropriate disciplinary actions are undertaken with staff incidences in accordance with the Pretty Green Disciplinary Procedure.
  • Use information technology to record sales figures, for data analysis and forward planning. Thereby analysing and interpreting trends to facilitate planning.
  • Analyse sales figures and forecast future sales volumes to maximise profits through managing stock levels. Key decisions must be made about stock control and orders are to be placed at appropriate times in accordance with these predictions.
  • Maintain an accurate stock system including conducting regular stock takes. Report any differences to the Area Manager.
  • Respond to customer complaints and comments including dealing with return/exchanges, discounts in accordance to store policy or that approved by the Area Manager.
  • Reporting to Area Manager any stock or staffing issues and making sure he/she is informed of reoccurring incidences. Regular contact is required so the Area Manager is up to date on shop performance, new initiatives, problems with product and other issues
  • Attending managers meetings and conduct store meetings.
  • Initiate changes to improve the business, e.g. revising opening hours to ensure the store can compete effectively in the local market. Thereby maintain awareness of market trends in the retail industry, understanding forthcoming customer initiatives and monitoring what local competitors are doing;
  • Perform general managerial tasks such as running reports, staff rotas and timesheets. Records must be maintained of faulty items, customer orders posted and end of day sheets.
  • Open and close cash registers, performing tasks such as counting money, separating charge slips, coupons, and vouchers, balancing cash drawers, and making deposits. Undertake banking daily, ensuring this is done accurately and any variances in payment are accounted for.

Assistant Store Manager

Key Accountabilities:

The Assistant Store Manager is required at all times to lead by example when dealing with customer and sales. Therefore they must perform to an excellent standard, all roles detailed in the Sales Assistant’s job description. Assistant Store Managers must ensure a quality of customer service, productivity and health and safety are met. All issues in these areas are to be resolved in a responsible and efficient manner to create a safe store environment for staff and customers, escalating to the Store Manager where necessary.

When left in charge of the store, the Assistant Store Manager must:

  • Tour the sales floor regularly, talking to colleagues and customers, and identifying or resolving urgent issues. Ensure the shop is organised and runs effectively. Visual merchandising must be maintained.
  • Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions, policies regarding payment and exchanges and security practices.
  • Manage and motivate the team to increase sales and ensure efficiency. Ensure each sales assistant is informed on targets, new initiatives and product knowledge.
  • Use information technology to record sales figures and information on the day’s trade.
  • Help to maintain an accurate stock system reporting any differences to the relevant departments and the Store Manager. This includes deliveries, transfers and anything else that relates to stock accuracy.
  • Respond to customer complaints and comments including dealing with return/exchanges and discounts in accordance to store policy or that approved by the Area Manager.
  • Report to the Store Manager on any stock or staffing issues and making sure he/she is informed of any reoccurring incidences
  • Perform general managerial tasks such as completing any reports and responding to / actioning any emails. Records must be maintained of faulty items, customer orders, end of day sheets and daily sheets
  • Open and close cash registers, performing tasks such as counting money, separating charge slips, coupons, and vouchers, balancing cash drawers, and making deposits. Undertake banking daily, ensuring this is done accurately and any variances in payment are accounted for
  • Attending staff meetings and ensuring that you have valid input along with the store manager
  • Helping the manager to organise any special in-store promotions, displays and events, picking up on anything necessary on their days off and working any events with them

    Key Accountabilities:

    As part of an enthusiastic team with genuine passion and interest for the brand, the general role of a Retail Sales Assistant is to achieve maximum sales though the delivery of the highest quality customer service and product knowledge.

    Retail Sales Assistants at Pretty Green are required at all times to:

  • Greet every customer and ascertain what each customer wants or needs.
  • Demonstrate product knowledge by informing customers of the features and benefits the products possess.
  • Meet customer enquiries with appropriate and positive natured answers regarding the store and its merchandise. Thereby maintaining knowledge of current sales and promotions, policies regarding payment/exchanges, and security practices
  • Deal with customer complaints and queries with good nature and escalate where necessary and appropriate
  • Recommend, select and help locate or obtain merchandise based on customer needs and desires; offering a suitable alternative if necessary. Further process customer needs by willingly placing customer orders or call other stores to find desired item/s
  • Complete all tasks set by store manager thoroughly and efficiently and undertake any other duties reasonably requested by your line manager
  • Lead by example in all areas of the role whilst in store and out of store
  • Maintain store standards including stocking, replenishing and cleaning sales areas and reflecting these standards in staff areas
  • Compute sales prices, total purchases and receive and process cash, voucher or credit payment. This is to be done accurately and precisely with the invoice matching merchandise sold and payment taken. Purchases must be wrapped/bagged in a neat fashion to ensure customer has a total retail experience
  • Recognize and monitor security risks and thefts, and know how to prevent or handle these situations, escalating to management as and when necessary
  • Maintain essential regular punctuality and ensure all shifts for the next week are taken note of. Sales assistants must be ready to work prior to their allocated start time
  • Ensure at least one item of Pretty Green clothing is visibly worn throughout the shift. Other clothing is to be clean and presentable, in line with the company uniform policy
  • Attend staff meetings when requested
  • At the end of day to stay until all customers have exited the store and the shop is left in a tidy manner
